Join us for a special evening at the Federal Reserve and Camden Yards. 

Dave Beck, senior vice president and regional executive of the Baltimore Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank will be discussing payment system improvements.

The meeting will be held at the Federal Reserve in Baltimore and be followed immediately by a networking event/ bullpen party prior to the game.  A section of bleacher seats have been reserved for the group.


  • Registration: 4:00- 4:30 PM  (Please pick up tickets at end of meeting) 
  • Presentation:  4:30-5:30 PM 
  • Os Networking Event/ Bullpen Party (entrée, unlimited sides, unlimited beer/soda) - 5:30- 7:00 PM

  • Dress is business casual.  Jeans allowed.


Anyone attending the FMS meeting at the FED will receive a $10 parking voucher for the Sheraton Inner Harbor parking garage at 300 South Charles Street, Baltimore, MD 21201.  The entrance to the garage is located on Conway Street.   This voucher should be presented upon exit and is valid for the entire game.


The U.S. payment system is undergoing a remarkable period of change, driven by rapid adoption of technology and evolving end-user expectations.  Going forward, the Federal Reserve Banks are collaborating and engaging with the industry to define and prioritize payment system improvements that advance the speed, efficiency and security of payments from end to end.  The Federal Reserve Banks believe that industry collaboration is the foundation of any enduring strategic improvements to the U.S. payment system. This presentation will provide an overview of the status of this initiative and the next steps to move the payment system forward.

Speaker Bio

Dave Beck joined the Baltimore office of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond in 1984 and has held management and official positions in most areas of the Bank.   Dave was promoted to senior vice president and regional executive of the Baltimore Branch in 2005, and currently has responsibility for all payments related activities in the Fifth District.  Dave also has local responsibility for regional outreach and the Branch Board of Directors, and serves as a member of the Bank’s senior management committee. 

Dave serves on the Federal Reserve System’s Industry Relations Team (IRT) which facilitates communication between key payments industry stakeholders and the Federal Reserve’s Financial Services.  Dave serves as an advisor to the Board of EastPay, a regional payment association based in Richmond, Virginia and locally he serves on the Board of Directors for the Maryland Council on Economic Education (MCEE),  Habitat for Humanity of the Chesapeake, and the Community Mediation Program (CMP).

Dave is a 2010 graduate of Leadership MD and a 2006 graduate of GBC Leadership.
